BioGuard Banish Algaecide
BioGuard Banish Algaecide kills ALL types of swimming pool algae. This fast acting formula will produce results in just 24 hours. This product allows swimmers to return soon after treatment. It is formulated to clear up water while it kills the algae and is approved for use in chlorine and bromine pools. BioGuard Banish Algaecide does not affect pH levels, so no readjusting is necessary after application. This product is also approved for use during shock treatments, so there are fewer steps than when using other copper-based algaecides. BioGuard Banish Algaecide can be used as a remedy for visible algae or to prevent algae from occurring.
Prevent algae before it becomes an issue. The addition of algicide is needed for proper pool maintenance. Sanitizers or shock/oxidizers alone may not keep algae at bay and this step is needed to keep your pool completely clear of any growth. This is the third part of the BioGuard 3-Step Pool Care System. Do all algicides kill algae? Not all algicides are alike, only algicides that have been approved by the EPA for killing algae actually perform. All BioGuard products have been thoroughly reviewed and proven effective. Various kinds of algae may require different treatments to ensure they are eliminated.

Dosing & Directions
- Pool pump and filter must be operational during treatment
- Product is added directly to pool
- Initial Dosing: 8 fl oz. per 10,000 gallons water
- Wait at least 15 minutes before entering pool
- Preventative Dosing: Add 1.5 fl oz. weekly per 10,000 gallons of water
- Wait at least 15 minutes before entering pool
- Remedy Dosing:
- Brush pool surfaces to remove algae
- Use a BioGuard Oxidizer per package instructions
- Let water circulate for 1 hour after adding oxidizer
- with pump and filter operational, add 16 fl oz. per 10,000 gallons water in area of heaviest algae growth
- Circulate pool water for 24 hours
- The next day, brush pool walls and floor
- Residual chlorine levels must be 1-4 ppm before entering pool
- Repeat treatment if algae still present after 2-4 days
